Walk to the French Sector

Question:
If we are not a passenger, can we walk through to the French Sector from Swiss side? I need to pick up my son coming back from school trip and have to use public transport that day.
Thank you for your advice.

Answer:
I'm not 100% sure if a non passenger can pass from the Swiss side of the airport to the French side. I've never tried it myself. My suggestion would be to have your son exit into Switzerland when his flight arrives at the airport. In essence all he has to do is follow all other passengers, as the vast majority of passengers exit into Switzerland and not France. In fact I have yet to understand how one exits into France from an arriving flight. As I have never noticed a sign marked France. I've been told one exists but have yet to see it!
