I’ve never done it but it should be straightforward, all you need to do is get to the train station in Geneva and buy your ticket. See the access section and scroll down to ‘Train’. You can buy online if you want - www.swisstravelsystem.com, but it’s not necessary. When I looked the price varied from 46 to 74 CHF.
